Since 2004, Operation Troop Appreciation has served over 210,000 returning home veterans and currently deployed soldiers. They are listed as one of the top 12 rated miliary charities on greatnonprofits.org (with 90% of their funding going directly to the needs of soldiers and veterans). They are a completely volunteer organization.
According to OTA Volunteer Representative, Kathie Gasior, who created the event over a decade ago and has hosted it since its inception, “This sale is so important for our troops well-being. What we make at this sale goes directly to our veterans, those returning and those currently serving. I am honored to be able to organize this sale that is dedicated to our veterans.”
The sale is being held at the South Park Community Center at the South Park Municipal Complex, 2675 Brownsville Road, South Park, PA 15129 (behind South Park Library).
They will also accept used jewelry for the upcoming sale. Email or contact Kathy Gasior with any

About Operation Troop Appreciation (OTA) www.operationtroopappreciation.org
Since 2004, Operation Troop Appreciation (OTA) has been dedicated to supporting both active and veteran members of our Armed Forces who serve our country. Approximately 90 percent of all funding and donations from this all-volunteer organization goes directly to deployed troops and veterans. More than 200,000 troops and veterans have received help through two OTA programs:
- The “Wish List” Program supports deployed U.S. military personnel and provides unit-level support with “wish list” requests that improve or sustain troop morale and safety. Since its inception in 2004, the Wish List program has provided supplies to more than 190,000 deployed U.S. military personnel throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Africa and other deployed locations.
- The “Welcome Home” Program provides welcome home kits for veterans containing essential household items such as beds, appliances and emergency financial assistance. OTA serves veterans who have come out of a homeless situation or are at-risk for becoming homeless. Since launching the program in 2014, OTA has helped over 6,000 veteran families in need. This program defrays the costs associated with establishing a new home and is provided to veterans experiencing financial hardship, and physical/ psychological challenges.
