National Spotlight: Andy Garcia-Hosted Series Highlights Operation Troop Appreciation

National public television program shines a spotlight on OTA’s mission, volunteers, and impact

Operation Troop Appreciation is honored to announce that our organization will be featured on an upcoming segment of All Access Hosted by Andy Garcia, a nationally distributed public television series that highlights organizations making a meaningful difference in communities across America.

Filmed at OTA’s headquarters in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, the feature tells the story of how a small grassroots effort that began in a basement grew into a nationwide mission dedicated to supporting active-duty service members and veterans. The program highlights the dedication of OTA’s founding leadership, including Monica Orluk and Kristen Holloway, as well as the incredible volunteers whose time, passion, and patriotism make our work possible every day.

The segment offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the heart of our organization: volunteers hand-packing customized care packages for deployed troops. Unlike one-size-fits-all shipments, OTA listens directly to requests from military units and provides items specifically needed in the field. This personalized approach ensures that each package delivers not only practical support, but also a powerful reminder that Americans at home appreciate the sacrifices being made on their behalf.

“OTA is comprised of a group of patriotic, passionate volunteers who simply want to show gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy in a tangible way. We were founded on the principle that we volunteer to serve those who volunteer to serve our country,” said Monica Orluk.

The television feature also explores OTA’s growing commitment to veterans. Building on the same volunteer-driven model that supports deployed troops, the organization helps veterans transitioning into independent housing by providing brand-new beds and essential household items. These home-establishment kits help create safe, comfortable living environments and support veterans as they build successful civilian lives.

Since its founding in 2004, Operation Troop Appreciation has remained a 100% volunteer-powered nonprofit, ensuring that resources are directed toward programs that directly benefit those who have served and continue to serve our nation. The All Access feature showcases not only the impact of our programs, but also the compassion and commitment of the volunteers, donors, and supporters who make our mission possible.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share OTA’s story with a national audience and to celebrate the community that stands behind our troops and veterans.
